Join the community conversation

You are invited!

Together.

We know that strong communities gather. Strong communities talk. And, strong communities act.  We must do this—all of Eagle and Union Townships—no matter which municipality names your address. Eagle and Union are glued together as a community because of the Zionsville Community Schools.

"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about."
Margaret J. Wheatley

Conversation creates awareness and positive change. Gathering, talking, and acting. These things are needed here.

Southeastern Boone County is growing and changing. The April 23rd community event conversation is an opportunity to come together as neighbors and friends from all different backgrounds, some from different parts of the world, to listen and share about hopes for the community.

“A member of a local church asked his pastor to attempt creating a community-wide conversation, and I jumped at the chance to convene a planning meeting and cast the net widely to be as inclusive as possible. Knowing that we could not include everything in the first session, we were keen on creating a community series. ZCS will host session one, and we’ll participate in later sessions around the area.”
ZCS Superintendent of Schools Scott Robison

During this first event in the community series, Rabbi Brett Krichiver of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and Reverend Shannon Walker Dycus of Growing Edge will kick-off the evening with a brief keynote addresses. We simply asked them to bring words of wisdom to our first gathering.

A panel discussion moderated by ZCS Superintendent of Schools Scott Robison will follow. Panelists include:

  • Rabbi Brett Krichiver, Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation
  • Reverend Shannon Walker Dycus, Growing Edge
  • Reverend Tyler Thompson, Zionsville Christian Church
  • Kris Devereaux, ZCS Chief Academic Officer
  • Zionsville Mayor Tim Haak

Strong in Every Way (SIEW) is an ongoing human capital campaign of the Zionsville Community Schools. For more than three years ZCS has utilized this area of focus to cause scores of new experiences for youth and families in more balanced lives, gaining new insights, and learning about cultural understandings.

We believe that the series starting on April 23rd is in perfect alignment with the creation of an attentive community, as was an original impetus for SIEW.

With a fully attentive community, productive conversations of belonging that happen in schools, homes, churches, businesses, at ballparks, on playgrounds, and in other gathering places foster the best possibilities for our youth to grow up as Strong in Every Way possible.

Join us in the ZCHS Performing Arts Center from 7-8:30 p.m. on April 23rd. There is no cost but you need to register for the event.
